Born and raised on the Upper West Side and a proud Brooklyn resident since the mid-2000’s, Gabe Leibowitz has lived in one of those two boroughs for his entire life, outside of a brief stint at Brandeis University near Boston for college. He opened his own residential brokerage (Aboveground Realty, later renamed Skygroup Realty) in 2005 and ran it for ten years before merging with Warburg Realty in 2015. Freed from the constraints of behind-the-scenes operational responsibilities, he focused all his energy on being a broker and turned that into two top-six producer finishes in both of his full years with Warburg. In 2018, he joined Douglas Elliman’s Tribeca offices in order to maximize his personal brand’s exposure and scope, while continuing to provide bespoke advisory services to his clients in the only way he’s ever known—via a strict professional mantra of ethics, responsibility, professionalism and patience. With nearly two decades of experience under this belt, he has a strong network of trusted bankers, attorneys, inspectors and contractors to offer his customers a full-service experience and a smooth-as-possible transaction from start to finish.
The Leibowitz Team has finished in Elliman’s highest-ranked Pinnacle Tier in each of their years at the company and is extremely active in both the sales and rental markets throughout Manhattan, Brooklyn and a little Queens. Gabe, and his busy, active team, has worked on numerous sales transactions ranging from 200K to over 10m and run immense rental portfolios representing Landlords in Tribeca and Midtown. He earned his MBA from NYU Stern’s part-time Langone program in May 2015 and is a board member for the NYU Stern Center for Real Estate; he’s also a certified NYRS (New York Residential Specialist). He lives in Brooklyn with his wife Francesca, teenage son Julian and their lovably goofy standard poodle, Sirius Black. In his spare time, he loves the movies (he was a film critic for years and still blogs regularly on Letterboxd), sports, Italy, concerts, fine dining and anything with his friends and family. He’s also a contributing writer to NYCitywomen.com, providing articles about real estate and cinema alike.
